Most client projects start with a site that already exists, and most of the work is reading it. This is that reading, done first, with a checkpoint before any design is made.

One URL. It reads what is published there — the pages, the navigation, the sections, the copy and the images.

Page by page, in the client's own words rather than invented ones. Existing text stays existing text.

You review it before anything is designed
Read what it found, correct what is wrong, drop the pages that should not carry over and add the ones that should. Nothing is generated until this is right.

One approved content plan, three complete multi-page designs. The words stay put; the design is the variable.

Nothing is invented behind your back.
The failure mode of an automatic redesign is confident fiction — a page that reads well and says things the business never said. The review step is there so that cannot happen quietly. You see the pages and the content it took from the existing site, in full, before any design work starts.

Pages and posts both come across.
WordPress is where most of these projects start, and the blog is usually the reason they stall. A WordPress site brings its pages and its posts into the draft, so years of writing is not an argument for staying put.

A redesign is a new design on existing content. It is not a migration.
Saying it plainly here saves an awkward conversation with a client later.

- Custom functionality — booking engines, member areas, calculators, anything a developer built
- Plugins, and the behaviour they add
- The old theme's code, which is rather the point: the design is new
- Anything behind a login, which was never public to read

What people ask about redesigns.
Does it copy the existing design?
No. It keeps the content and rebuilds the design. If a client wants their current design preserved rather than replaced, a redesign is the wrong tool for that job.
What happens to the client's current site?
Nothing. Mondovo reads it and builds a separate draft in your workspace. The existing site stays up and untouched until you publish the new one to the domain.
What if the site it reads is out of date?
Correct it at the review step. What it found is editable text before any design is generated, so a stale price or an old address gets fixed once rather than repeated across three designs.
Do the blog posts come across from WordPress?
Yes — pages and posts both. What does not come across is anything a plugin was doing, which is worth agreeing with the client before you start.
What does it cost to try?
Nothing. Drafts are free, and so are the designs and the revisions. A site becomes $20 a month on the day it goes live, and the charge stops when it is unpublished.
Can I start from something other than a URL?
Yes. A written brief or a PDF works the same way, and ends at the same review step before any design is generated.
