GoDaddy Website Builder alternative
A GoDaddy Website Builder alternative that reads your site and redesigns it three ways.
Mondovo is a GoDaddy Website Builder alternative for businesses that have outgrown a template. Paste your current GoDaddy address: Mondovo brings your pages, text, images, logo and colours across, shows you the plan, then builds three complete designs to compare. Old addresses are redirected to the new pages, and your domain can stay registered at GoDaddy.
Free plan available. No credit card required.
The short version
Read this first, and you may not need the rest of the page.
Both are hosted builders aimed at small businesses, with a store, appointments and email marketing in reach. The difference is where the design comes from, and what happens when you want to change it or leave.
Choose Mondovo if
- You want to see finished designs built from your own content before you choose one.
- You want your existing site read and brought across, rather than retyped page by page.
- You want old page addresses redirected for you, so a move doesn't cost you your search traffic.
- You want a simple price: building is free, and a live site on your own domain is $20 a month.
Choose GoDaddy if
- You want your domain, email, hosting and website from one company, on one bill.
- Your current GoDaddy site does the job and you are happy with the price you renew at.
Capability
Side by side.
Quoted text belongs to GoDaddy. Rows are limited to things we could confirm from GoDaddy's own help centre and blog.
GoDaddy's pricing page would not load for us on 28 October 2026, so the only GoDaddy prices here are the ones GoDaddy itself published in March 2026, labelled as such.
| Mondovo | GoDaddy Website Builder | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the design comes from | Generated for your business from an approved plan of its pages. Three complete multi-page designs per round, and up to ten on one site. | Built from GoDaddy's themes and sections, with its Airo AI tools to help you start. |
| Starting from an existing site | Paste the address. Pages, text, images, logo and colours come across, and you review them before any design is made. | — |
| Price | Building is free. $20 a month per live site, with your own domain, hosting and SSL included. No introductory rate, so no jump at renewal. | GoDaddy's own GoDaddy vs Wix article listed Premium at an introductory $15.99 a month and $39.99 a month at renewal on annual billing, "as of March 9, 2026". |
| Taking your products with you | Products can be imported from a CSV file. | "Export your products from your Websites + Marketing online store as a .csv file." |
| Taking the whole site with you | Download the published site as ready-to-host files from Site settings → Export site. Your domain stays registered with you. | We could not find a GoDaddy help article for exporting a whole Websites + Marketing site. |
| Old links after a move | Every old address is redirected to the closest new page with a permanent (301) redirect, which you can check and edit. | — |
| Working from Claude or ChatGPT | A connector: build and edit the site, add pages, draft posts and emails, and publish, from inside the conversation. | — |
A dash means we could not confirm it from GoDaddy's own pages, so we make no claim either way. GoDaddy does a great deal that is not listed here.
The part that decides it
Changing the design shouldn't mean rebuilding the site.
On most template builders, the design and the content are tied together, so a new look is a weekend of copying and pasting. That is what keeps people on a site they have stopped liking.
Your content is kept separate from the design
Your words, pages, images and SEO settings sit underneath the design. A new design is made on top of the same content, not retyped into it.
Three options, not one guess
Each round gives you three complete designs, each with your own content, so you compare finished pages rather than imagining them from a template thumbnail.
Switching later is a click
Up to ten designs can sit on one site. Making a different one live is a switch, and nothing you wrote moves.
And leaving is allowed
Your domain stays registered with you, and the published site downloads as ready-to-host files. A platform you can leave is one you can trust with the move in.
What each one costs
One flat price, against a first-year price.
Compare the second year, not the first. Introductory rates are where most builder comparisons go wrong.
Mondovo
$20 per live site per month
Building, redesigning and editing are free. One live site on your own domain is included in Pro at $20 a month, with hosting and SSL. Pages, visitors and form submissions are not billed. The Free plan publishes one site on a free Mondovo address.
GoDaddy Website Builder
Introductory rate, then renewal
In March 2026 GoDaddy published Premium at $15.99 a month introductory and $39.99 a month at renewal, on annual billing. Check GoDaddy's pricing page for your plan and region before you compare.
Domain registration is separate on both. If your domain is registered at GoDaddy, it can stay there and point at a Mondovo site.
Range
Six briefs, six answers. Not one template.
Six businesses, each generated from its own brief: a restaurant, an estate agent, a design agency, a nail studio, a plumber and a patisserie. The point of showing them together is the distance between them.

When GoDaddy fits
When GoDaddy is the right answer.
GoDaddy's builder is a reasonable product, and there are businesses that should stay on it.
You want one company for everything
Domain, email, hosting and website on one account and one bill is a genuine convenience, and GoDaddy is built around it.
The site is doing its job
If enquiries come in and you are happy with the renewal price, a move is work for its own sake.
You sell on it and the store works
Moving a working store to improve the look is rarely worth it. Export your products first if you ever do.
You rely on GoDaddy's marketing tools
If your email list and campaigns live in GoDaddy and they work, weigh the cost of moving them before you move the website.
A comparison page that could not name a case for the other side would not be worth reading.
Before you move
Questions about leaving GoDaddy Website Builder.
Can Mondovo bring my GoDaddy site across?
Yes. Paste your site's address and Mondovo reads the pages, bringing across the text, images, logo and colours. You review the plan of pages before any design is made, and old addresses are redirected to the closest new page.
Do I have to move my domain away from GoDaddy?
No. Your domain can stay registered at GoDaddy and point at your Mondovo site through its DNS settings. Transferring it is optional.
Can I export my GoDaddy website?
GoDaddy documents exporting your store's products to a CSV file. We could not find a GoDaddy help article for exporting a whole Websites + Marketing site, which is why reading the live pages is the practical route.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if every old address redirects to its new page. Mondovo maps each old address to the closest new page with a permanent (301) redirect, and marks any it could not match exactly for you to check.
Can it replace a GoDaddy online store?
Yes. Products, a cart, checkout, payments and an orders view are part of the site, and products can be imported from the CSV GoDaddy exports. Order history does not come across.
How much does Mondovo cost compared with GoDaddy?
Building and redesigning on Mondovo are free. A live site on your own domain is $20 a month with hosting and SSL, with no introductory rate. GoDaddy published its Premium plan at $15.99 a month introductory and $39.99 at renewal in March 2026; check its pricing page for today's figures.
What are the other GoDaddy Website Builder alternatives?
WordPress if you want plugins and ownership, Squarespace for polished design, Wix for a large app market, Shopify for a store-first business, and Mondovo if you want your current site read and redesigned three ways.
