Framer vs Webflow (2026), and the best Framer alternatives
Framer is the faster design canvas; Webflow is the deeper site platform. How they compare on price, CMS, AI and limits, plus the other Framer alternatives worth a look.

Choose Framer if you want the fastest way from a design to a live, animated marketing site, priced simply per site. Choose Webflow if the site needs a large CMS, an online store, web-standard control over HTML and CSS, or a team of editors with roles. Framer is quicker for designers. Webflow is the deeper platform.
Figures below come from Framer's and Webflow's own pricing, product and help pages, read on 20 October 2026, in US dollars. Framer's page shows prices billed yearly, so those are the ones quoted. We make Mondovo, a different website builder. It isn't part of this verdict, and the Framer alternatives section below names it alongside the others.

Who should choose which
- Framer suits designers, startups and studios building marketing sites and landing pages, especially with motion, who want simple per-site pricing.
- Webflow suits content-heavy marketing sites, stores, agencies running many client sites, and teams that need roles, staging and a structured CMS.
Pricing
Framer prices per site. Basic is $10 a month billed yearly and Pro $30, with a free domain on yearly billing. Extra editors cost $20 a month and content editors $10. Webflow splits pricing in two. Site plans pay for hosting: Basic is $15 a month billed yearly, and Premium with the CMS is $25. Workspace plans pay for the builders: Core is $19, Growth $49, Freelancer $16 and Agency $35, with extra full seats at $39.
Winner: Framer, for a simpler and usually lower bill on one site.
Design and building
Framer is a design canvas with breakpoints and built-in effects that feels familiar to anyone coming from design tools. Webflow's Designer follows the HTML and CSS box model, with flexbox, grid and a class system. That means more to learn and more precise control, and it lets you export clean code from paid workspace plans.
Winner: Framer for speed. Webflow for structural control.
CMS and scale
Framer's Basic plan allows 30 pages, 2 CMS collections and 1,000 items. Pro raises that to 150 pages, 10 collections and 2,500 items, with paid top-ups up to 700 pages and 40,000 items. Webflow's Premium site plan includes 40 collections and 20,000 items, and its Basic plan allows 300 static pages, but no CMS.
Winner: Webflow, for content-heavy sites.
Selling online
Framer's pricing page lists no ecommerce plan, so selling means third-party tools. Webflow has dedicated Ecommerce plans: Standard at $29 a month billed yearly, with 500 items and a 2% transaction fee, and Plus at $74 with 0%.
Winner: Webflow.
SEO
Both cover the essentials: page titles and descriptions, an automatic sitemap and robots.txt, and redirects (on Framer's Pro plan). Framer suggests adding structured data with custom code. Webflow lists schema markup, canonical tags, llms.txt and AI-crawler controls among its features. Some need a paid workspace plan.
Winner: Webflow, by a little.
AI features
Framer's agent generates pages, sections, copy, visuals, CMS collections and code components, and reviews the site before you publish. Unusually, it lets you choose the model per task. Webflow's AI builds a whole site with a design system from a prompt, and adds sections, CMS items, code components and SEO audits. Both meter AI with monthly credits.
Winner: tie.
The verdict
For a designer shipping a beautiful marketing site fast, Framer. For a site that has to grow, with a big CMS, a store, many editors or many client sites, Webflow.
The best Framer alternatives
Framer's own comparison pages and recent roundups most often set it against these:
- Webflow: the closest alternative, with deeper CMS, ecommerce and team features (above).
- Wix: easier for non-designers, with bookings, a store and a free plan.
- Squarespace: polished templates and selling on every plan, with less design freedom.
- WordPress: unlimited content and plugins, if you will look after it.
- Figma Sites: publishing straight from Figma, for teams that already design there.
- Lovable and v0: AI app builders that write code, for products rather than marketing sites.
- Mondovo: for businesses and agencies who would rather choose from three finished designs than design from a blank canvas. Bookings, payments and forms are included, building is free, and a live site is $20 a month. See Mondovo vs Webflow or Mondovo vs the AI site builders.
