When you move a site to Mondovo, people and search engines still use your old addresses. Redirects send each one to the right new page, so you do not lose traffic or rankings.
How it works
When you redesign an existing website, Mondovo reads the old site's pages and points each one at the closest new page with a permanent (301) redirect. Old .php and .html addresses and WordPress-style links are covered, and tracking tags in old links carry over.
Check and edit your redirects
- Open Results → SEO → Redirects.
- Look for rows marked Needs a look. These went to the nearest section because nothing matched exactly. Change them if you like.
- Use Test an address to see where any old address goes.
- Add or edit a redirect by hand, or use Import CSV and export for a big list.
- If you redesigned outside Mondovo's redesign flow, use Map the old website's links.
- Publish your site and connect your domain.
Good to know
- Redirects carry over when you click Build my site.
- Renaming a page's address in the editor adds a redirect from the old address automatically.
- You can ask the assistant: "Show my redirects."
