The Directory feature turns your site into a listing site, such as a local business guide or a list of members.
Steps
- Ask the chat to add a directory, or add a directory list in Website → Content.
- Open Website → Directory and add listings by hand: title, category, description, location, website and contact details.
- To fill it faster, use Add businesses. We look up local businesses and add the ones you do not have yet.
- In the directory settings, turn on Accept public submissions if you want people to submit listings. Submissions wait in a review queue for you to approve or reject.
- Choose What owners can edit when a business claims its listing.
- Publish your site.
Paid placement
Turn on Paid placement to offer Featured (above the free listings) or Sponsored (top of the list) spots. You can see and end active placements from the directory.
Good to know
- Claims and reported listings appear in the directory's panels, where you can revoke a claim or remove a listing.
- Enquiries sent to listings arrive in your inbox.
