The best AI website builders in 2026, compared

Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger, Durable, 10Web, Framer, Webflow, Relume, Lovable, v0, Bolt and Mondovo: what each one's AI actually builds, what it costs with your own domain, and who it suits.

The best AI website builder depends on what you are building. For a small business website that takes bookings and payments, Wix and Durable are the quickest all-in-one picks. Squarespace is the polished one. Mondovo is for when you want several finished designs to choose between. For a web app, Lovable, v0 and Bolt generate real code. If you are a designer, Framer, Webflow and Relume give you the most control.

We make Mondovo, one of the tools below, so read our entry with that in mind. Every price and feature here comes from each company's own pricing and product pages, read on 20 October 2026. Prices are in US dollars, and they change often, so check the current price before you buy.

First, decide what kind of AI builder you need

"AI website builder" now covers three different kinds of product. Picking the wrong kind is the most common mistake.

  • Hosted site builders with AI (Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger, Durable, Mondovo). The AI writes and designs the site, and the platform hosts it. You edit it in a visual editor, and things like forms, bookings and payments are features you switch on.
  • Design tools with AI (Framer, Webflow, Relume). The AI gives you a head start inside a professional design tool. You get far more control, and need more skill to use it.
  • AI app builders (Lovable, v0, Bolt). They write a real code application. That is ideal for software. For a bakery's website it is overkill, because every change goes through a prompt and uses up credits.

The builders, one by one

Wix: the most complete all-rounder

Wix's AI builds a full site from a prompt or a conversation, with pages, layout, copy and images. You then edit it with Aria, its AI assistant, or with drag and drop. You can build for free, but connecting your own domain needs a paid plan (Light, $17/mo billed yearly). Taking payments, selling online and scheduling start on Core ($29/mo billed yearly).

Watch out for: the cheapest paid plan does not include selling or booking, so most businesses end up on Core.

Squarespace: the best-looking starting point

Squarespace's AI builder gives you "a multi-page starting point with relevant content, imagery, and styling already in place". You keep editing in Squarespace's normal editor. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Basic is $19/mo billed yearly or $25/mo billed monthly.

Watch out for: Basic charges a 2% fee on store sales (Core and above charge none), and Basic's AI allowance is a one-time 10 credits.

Hostinger: the cheapest way in, with a catch

Hostinger lets you build from a single prompt and then edit by drag and drop, or build the whole site in a chat. The headline $2.49/mo needs a 48-month prepay ($119.52 upfront) and renews at $10.99/mo. Selling online needs a higher plan.

Watch out for: the renewal price, about 4.4 times the introductory one. Also, Hostinger says that once you start building with one mode, you cannot switch mid-way.

Durable: fastest for service businesses

Durable's pitch is a business website "online in 30 seconds". It also includes a CRM, logo and social post tools, online booking and forms. The free plan has no custom domain. Launch ($25/mo) adds one, with 1,000 AI credits a month.

Watch out for: Durable itself says it "isn't designed specifically for e-commerce". If you sell products, look elsewhere.

10Web: AI on top of real WordPress

10Web generates the site on WordPress, with WooCommerce for stores. So what you get is a normal WordPress site you can keep extending with plugins. AI Starter is $10/mo for one site.

Watch out for: the entry plan is capped at 10,000 visits a month and 100 AI credits a month. You also inherit WordPress's upkeep: updates, plugins and the occasional conflict.

Framer: for designers

Framer's AI creates "editable pages, sections, copy, and visuals" that you can take over on the canvas at any time. The output is real layers, not a locked template. Basic is $10/mo with a custom domain.

Watch out for: Basic is limited to 30 pages and 2 CMS collections, extra editors cost $20/mo each, and its pricing page does not mention selling online.

Webflow: the most control

Webflow's AI site builder generates "an entire website with a scalable design system" from a prompt, inside the same Designer that agencies use for hand-built sites. Basic is $15/mo billed yearly. A CMS needs the $25/mo plan, and stores are separate plans from $29/mo.

Watch out for: the learning curve. Webflow rewards people who already think like web designers.

Relume: for planning, not for publishing first

Relume turns a brief into a sitemap and wireframes. You then export to Figma, Webflow or React, and it can now host the result too. AI Pro starts at $14/mo, and hosting on your own domain is from $12 per project a month.

Watch out for: it is strongest as the first step of a designer's workflow, not as a one-stop site for a business owner.

Lovable, v0 and Bolt: for apps, not brochure sites

All three write a working application you can export or sync to GitHub. Lovable Pro is $25/mo for 100 credits. v0 Plus is $30 per user a month. Bolt Pro is $18/mo billed yearly for 10 million tokens.

Watch out for: metering. On Lovable, even "make the button gray" costs half a credit. Bolt notes that larger projects use more tokens per message. None of them include bookings, a store or forms as switch-on features: you build them as code.

Mondovo: three finished designs to choose from

Mondovo asks about the business, or reads the site it already has. It writes a page-by-page content plan for you to approve, then generates three complete multi-page designs of the same content, each a different direction. Booking, payments and a store, forms, a contact inbox, a chat assistant and per-page SEO are part of the site. It also drafts social posts and emails. It works inside Claude and ChatGPT too. Building and comparing designs is free. Pro is $20/mo including one live site with your own domain, and each further live site is $20/mo. See Mondovo vs the AI site builders.

Watch out for: Mondovo is newer than everything else here, it has no plugin marketplace, and it gives you less pixel-level control than Webflow or Framer.

Which one should you pick?

  • A local business that needs bookings or payments: Wix, Durable (services only) or Mondovo.
  • A portfolio or brand where looks matter most: Squarespace or Framer.
  • The lowest cost for a simple site: Hostinger, as long as you are fine with prepaying and the renewal price.
  • You want to stay on WordPress: 10Web.
  • You are a designer or an agency: Webflow or Framer for control, Relume for planning, or Mondovo to show a client several finished directions.
  • You are building software, not a website: Lovable, v0 or Bolt.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI website builder?

For most small businesses, Wix is the most complete. Squarespace looks the most polished out of the box, and Durable is the fastest for service businesses. For apps rather than websites, Lovable, v0 and Bolt are better fits. For designers, Framer and Webflow are.

Is there a free AI website builder?

Wix, Framer, Webflow, Durable and Bolt all let you build for free. Publishing on your own domain, though, needs a paid plan on every one of them. v0 has a free tier too, limited to 7 messages a day. Squarespace and Hostinger offer a 14-day trial instead of a free plan. Mondovo is free to build and compare designs, and lets you publish one site on a free mondovo.com address.

Can an AI website builder replace a web designer?

For a standard small-business site, it can get you most of the way in an afternoon. A designer is still worth hiring for a distinctive brand, a complex site, or when nobody on the team wants to own the site afterwards.

Are AI-built websites good for SEO?

The builders here all let you set page titles and descriptions, and they publish a sitemap. What decides rankings is still the content: pages that answer what your customers search for. Check that each page targets a phrase people actually search, not just one that reads well.

What is the difference between an AI website builder and an AI app builder?

A website builder gives you a hosted site with features you switch on, edited visually. An app builder writes code, which is more flexible but means every change goes through prompts or code.
