A journey sends a sequence of messages to each person automatically, at their own pace. Use one to welcome new signups or follow up with people who asked about your business.
Steps
- Open Messages & customers → Email → Automations and start a new automation.
- Describe what you want, for example "follow up with new leads after 1, 3 and 7 days". It is built for you, and you can change any part.
- Check the trigger: a form submitted, a booking made, confirmed or rescheduled, an order paid or shipped, a cart abandoned, a return requested, or someone joining or leaving a segment.
- Add or edit steps: send an email or text, wait, split into Yes and No paths, A/B split, update the contact, call a webhook, or stop at a goal.
- Put a Wait between messages. The editor warns you when two emails have no wait between them.
- Click Save, then switch the journey on when you are ready.
Good to know
- New journeys start switched off, so nothing is sent while you build.
- People who start after you save follow the new version. People already in the journey finish the version they started.
- On an email step, Translate into each contact's language sends each person the email in their own language.
- Marketing journey emails need a sending domain. See Set up a sending domain.
- For splits and stops with screenshots, read the journey guide.
