You need someone's permission before you text them. Mondovo records each opt-in and only sends automated texts to people with a recorded opt-in for your site.
Add consent to your forms
- Open Site settings → Integrations → Phone & SMS, or the settings of a form with a phone field in Messages & customers → Forms.
- Choose the forms that should offer texting.
- Review the wording for your real purpose, such as appointment reminders. It should name your business, say what you will send and how often, mention that message and data rates may apply, and say to reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
- Add links to your privacy policy and SMS terms.
- Save and publish. Test the live form with the box ticked and without it. The form must work either way.
How opt-outs work
- Your texts end with a short line telling people to reply STOP to unsubscribe.
- When someone replies STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT), their opt-in for your site is withdrawn and no journey or automation will text them.
- If they reply START, the block is lifted. START is not a new opt-in for someone who never opted in.
- Opt-outs are per site.
Good to know
- The box always starts unchecked, and ticking it is never required.
- Each opt-in keeps the exact wording the person agreed to.
- Existing contacts are not treated as opted in, even if you have their number.
- Replies other than STOP and START are not shown in Mondovo. Read them in your Twilio account.
