Forward emails from your domain to Gmail

Receive mail sent to hello@yourbusiness.com in the inbox you already use, often for free, through your domain provider or Cloudflare.

Email forwarding sends mail for an address at your domain, such as hello@yourbusiness.com, to an inbox you already use, like a personal Gmail. There is no new mailbox to manage, and it is often free.

Where to set it up

Forwarding is set up where your domain's DNS is managed:

  • The company you bought the domain from. Many include free forwarding. Look for "Email forwarding" in your domain's settings.
  • Cloudflare. If your domain's DNS is on Cloudflare, open Email → Email Routing, add the address and where it should go, and let Cloudflare add the records it needs. It is free.

Your provider will add one or more MX records. If you already use a mailbox at this domain (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365), do not turn on forwarding: the two would compete for the same mail.

Good to know

  • Forwarding only receives. Replies go out from the inbox you forward to, for example your Gmail address. To reply as hello@yourbusiness.com, use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 instead.
  • Forwarded mail can occasionally land in spam. Mark the first one "Not spam" in your inbox.
  • It does not affect your website. Leave the records that point your domain to your Mondovo site as they are.

Frequently asked questions

Do website form messages need forwarding?

No. Messages from your site's forms and chat already arrive in your Mondovo Inbox and in the notification email you chose.

Can I forward several addresses?

Yes, most forwarding services let you add several, such as hello@, sales@ and bookings@, each going to a different inbox if you like.
