A business email address like hello@yourbusiness.com uses the same domain as your website. Mondovo runs your website; your mailbox comes from an email provider you sign up with directly. Setting it up takes about 20 minutes and does not change your website.
Pick an option
| You want | Choose |
|---|---|
| A full mailbox with a phone app, calendar and file storage, and you already use Gmail | Google Workspace |
| A full mailbox that works with Outlook, Word and Excel | Microsoft 365 |
| Just to receive mail at your domain in the inbox you already have | Email forwarding, often free |
Why sign up with the email provider directly?
- Your mailbox stays yours, whatever happens with your website.
- The provider's own support team helps with passwords, lost emails and moving old mail across.
- You pay the provider's normal price, with no middleman.
What you will need
- Your domain, connected to your Mondovo site or not.
- A login where your domain's DNS is managed: usually the company you bought the domain from (GoDaddy, Namecheap and so on) or Cloudflare. You will add a few records there.
Will this affect my website?
No. Email uses different records (MX and TXT) from the ones that point your domain to your Mondovo site. Add the email records and leave the website records as they are.
If you also send emails from your site through a sending domain, that uses a subdomain such as mail.yourbusiness.com, so it does not clash with your mailbox.
Frequently asked questions
Does Mondovo sell email inboxes?
No. Mailboxes are best run by a dedicated email provider, so we help you connect one to your domain instead. Messages from your site's forms and chat still arrive in your Mondovo Inbox.
Can I use my business address for replies to website leads?
Yes. Set it as the reply-to address on your site's sending domain, and customers' replies go straight to that mailbox.
I only have a free Gmail address. Can I keep using it?
Yes. Forward your business address to it with email forwarding. You receive everything in Gmail, though replies come from your Gmail address unless you also set up a mailbox.
