Create discount codes

Discount codes give buyers money off at checkout.

Steps

1. Open Site settings → Discounts.
2. Create a code, such as SUMMER10.
3. Choose the type: a percentage off (1 to 100) or a fixed amount off.
4. Optional: set a minimum order, a maximum number of uses, and start and end dates.
5. Save. The code works at checkout straight away.
6. Place a test order with the code to check the discount. See Test your store before launch.

Good to know

• Codes are saved in capital letters and must be unique in your store.
• Disable pauses a code and keeps its usage count, so you can see how often it was used. Delete removes it.
• A maximum number of uses is a simple way to run a limited offer, such as the first 50 orders.
• You can ask the assistant: "Create a 10% code WELCOME10 for orders over $50, ending 31 December."
